Our team is made up of safety professionals with extensive experience and training, including working with dental professionals. We are active members in safety organizations, including the Canadian Society of Safety Engineering and the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals, and are bound by the code of ethics developed by these organizations.
Lauren McFarlane, President, BA, CHSC
Lauren McFarlane is the dynamic founder and President of Act First Safety / Dental Practice Safety, a Canadian leader in Occupational Health and Safety training, consulting, and safety product distribution.
Her career in Occupational Health and Safety began in 2003, following a successful sales and marketing career based in advertising, publishing, and new business development. She founded Act First Safety in 2006, after three years with a leading safety company. Her vision was to simplify Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) compliance for employers, saving them time and money while providing the highest quality of training and support. Under Lauren’s leadership, Act First Safety quickly developed a reputation for superb training programs, quality products, excellent customer service and unmatched expertise. The focus on continuous improvement is evident. The company is persistently expanding its offerings and in 2012 launched a program dedicated to the emerging field of dental practice safety.
Lauren is certified as a Health and Safety Consultant by the Canadian Society of Safety Engineering (CSSE) and has earned a long list of OHS certifications and training. An experienced and engaging speaker, Ms. McFarlane has presented at numerous industry conferences.
